The Model Town of Bdadoun
Building a flourishing Bdadoun, preserving heritage, empowering people, inspiring future generations together
This is my vision for Bdadoun which i present to its people and offer to those who will be elected in this municipal election.
Geobel Georges HOYECK
This is my vision, which I present to the beloved people of my village, hoping that the winning team in the elections will adopt from these ideas what can be achieved in the near future. As for what may not be immediately possible, I hope we can work on realizing it over the longer term through our personal efforts and relationships. This website is at the disposal of the municipality, with the hope that they will also work on improving it — and it is equally at the service of the people of my village.
Geobel Georges Hoyeck
After spending more than 35 years abroad,i have decided to return to my beloved village and share with its people a humble vision of how i see its future in the coming years .
I offer this project to those who will take on responsabilities after these elections and i especially dedicate it to our youth, who represent our future.
— with sincerity and love.
Bdadoun Model Village is a community-driven initiative dedicated to transforming our beloved village into a thriving, beautiful, and sustainable model for all Lebanese villages. After years of experience and learning abroad, i return with a commitment to serve Bdadoun’s present and future — with love, honesty, and determination.
Our plan focuses on supporting all generations, reviving culture, preserving heritage, enhancing infrastructure, and promoting community spirit. We believe that with collective effort and transparent work, Bdadoun can become a beacon of development, unity, and beauty.
To see Bdadoun flourish into a vibrant, modern, and exemplary village, blending tradition with innovation, where every resident — young and old — thrives in a supportive, sustainable, and culturally rich environment.
We empower all generations through social, cultural, and sports initiatives, preserve Bdadoun heritage, enhance infrastructure for a safer, more beautiful village, and foster unity through transparent, community-led projects and regional collaboration.
Supporting the Elderly
Establish a social center for the elderly offering cultural, social, and recreational activities, while attending to their daily needs.
Supporting Youth and Sports
Build fully equipped sports fields within the village, eliminating the need for young people to travel to neighboring villages.
Form a youth advisory group from the village called “Future of Bdadoun” to participate in proposing development ideas.
Reviving the Cultural Center
Re-establish a modern cultural center under the name “Elias Tanous El-Houayek Cultural Center.”
Highlight the cultural and political role Elias Tanous El-Houayek played between Lebanon and France.
Remember the role of the old center founded by your late father during the war, where women used to gather to learn arts and crafts.
Preserving Literary and Poetic Heritage
Honor renowned zajal poets like Shahrour Al-Wadi, while also celebrating other major cultural figures from the village.
Creating Bicycle Paths
Designate bike lanes on village roads to encourage eco-friendly sports.
Improving Roads
Widen the village roads where possible, and enhance sidewalks aesthetically without causing additional congestion.
Organizing Parking
Study and implement solutions to provide designated parking spaces close to residents who do not have private parking at home.
Providing Free Internet
Set up free Wi-Fi hotspots in the village squares and public spaces to support communication and education.
Launching the “Blooming Bdadoun” Project
Distribute flower seeds and pots to residents to encourage beautification of balconies and private gardens.
Assign a municipal employee to water the flowers using a mobile water tanker several evenings a week.
Establishing a Weekly Farmers’ Market
Organize a weekly market in the Qala’a and Saint Anthony neighborhoods to support local farmers and promote their products to residents and visitors.
Launching an Annual Village Festival
Organize an annual “Bdadoun Festival,” independent of religious holidays, bringing everyone together with booths selling village products.
Use the festival proceeds to support the purchase of seeds and flower planting in the village.
Strengthening Ties with Neighboring Villages
Develop a safe, well-lit pedestrian path connecting Bdadoun to Bsous, with wide sidewalks and resting benches.
Coordinate joint sports and cultural projects with Houmal and Wadi Chahrour, like rallies and music competitions.
Ensuring Full Transparency
Every project will be proposed with clear studies and through public tenders, ensuring transparency and gaining the trust and support — both financial and moral — of the villagers and expatriates.
This vision represents my personal dream for Bdadoun — the village I love deeply. I dream of seeing it flourish, bloom, and become a model among villages, through the efforts and participation of all of us. With our shared will, transparent and sincere work, cooperation, and perseverance, we can turn this dream into reality. Today, I place these ideas in your hands, with all love and hope, wishing that we work together to write a bright future worthy of Bdadoun and its people.
Building a flourishing Bdadoun, preserving heritage, empowering people, inspiring future generations together.
